Where to place the sensors in a 4 wheel drive car

Blunik is a precise and very reliable device in reading distances if we mount the sensor on the not tractor wheels.

In the case of 4x4 vehicles we will lose some of this accuracy and reliability. Accepting this is the first, but act intelligently is better.

Each car is a case, so we can only give you a guideline so that Blunik has the best information from the wheel sensors.

Place the sensor where fewer laps of the wheel will be lost.

Take into account the % of self-locking and what happens when you lift the wheel that is carrying the probe or the wheel that does not carry it.

If you install two sensors, put one on the right wheel and one on the left (never on front and rear).

Tip:

As you drive a 4 wheel drive car we assume that you take part in off-road events. So the chances of breaking a sensor increase. Think more about reliably than abou accuracy. Our advice is to use two probes to have redundant data and be able to use the second one in case the first is broken.

Use the “Sensor veirifing screen” to see what your car is doing in different circumstances. More info in the pdf of Install Probes.

That we know, there is no golden rule, so practice, think and decide!
